The Interview I was nervous at the interview There was Phil from head office I used to avoid him at social gatherings And Fiona from HR I remember her from school Frisky Fiona was her name I look at her, she looks away These people will decide my future In a duel that could go either way I'm nervous at the interview Jealous at the interview Will they choose me Or will they choose you? Fiona adjusts her position she crosses her legs And i'm briefly distracted As I miss the start of Phil's question Something about being assertive So, I rummage for an answer And blurt out that I'm domineering A cheeky smile comes across Fiona’s face Those cherry red lips, are a disgrace Goodbye Fiona, Goodbye Phil (handshake weak) You’ll hear from us within the week I leave the office The daylight blinds me As I stumble upon the street I look up to the office window To see Fiona on the phone.... ...my pocket starts to vibrate.

He put on his cap, in the cold pouring rain Wiped the blood from his mouth and said "don’t come here again" The villain ran, as fast as he could Into the night; while the village shook If he’d thought He would've stopped If he’d thought, he’d take the damage back He arose from the ground into the night As he looked down, he could see his past The fire arose, from a fire in his gut And through his hands; he saw his village burn

How many times must I lie to you? About the wonderful things I do How many times must I pretend to like? A compulsory smile to the camera How many fake certificates? What do I need for a one way vision? How do I get myself excited? When my hopes appear to be blind The youth are skipping happily by Some are running far too fast How many times must I lie to you? How many times must I lie to you? Are you finally getting bitter? As you watch your people get on As you watch them all succeed As you watch thier faces light up When you finally recognise And you are still left behind To sit in the social club With your coupon and yer pint

Are you a hero? Or a villain? Are you a good guy? Or just bad? Are you helpful? Or do you just take it? Do you embrace the world? Or do you break it? Are you a hero? Or a villain? Are you a good guy? Or just bad? Do you love someone enough to care? If their life gets heavy, you’ll pull them out of there? Are you a hero? Or a villain?

What’d you want me to be? What’d you take from me? There is a part you’ve taken from me It’s so hard to be, it's so hard to be A friend that you’d really rather see Yeah What do you want me to be? What sign will I be? I'm not the answer, don’t ask me What do you want me to be? What do you want me to be? I'm a like a canine with no teeth. Yeah Oh what have you done? You put your last coin in the machine.
